Senior Humanities Fellow
Harry Foster is a returning senior humanities fellow who served as a cryptologic linguist and combat engineer for five years in the Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged from active duty, Harry attended community college at Saddleback College, where he completed an associate’s degree in English. In 2019, he attended WSP’s College Success Workshop and the WSP humanities course at Columbia University. In 2020, he transferred to Columbia to pursue a bachelor’s degree in English and creative writing; he graduated in spring 2023. In addition to serving as a senior humanities fellow with WSP, Harry is part of the Diana Davis Spencer Foundation Scholars Program and the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship. This fall, he will begin graduate school at Michigan State University to pursue a Ph.D. in English, and he hopes to pursue a career as an English and African American studies professor and professional writer.
