Kenny Simmons

Kenny Simmons served as a laboratory technician and special operations medic in the Army for 14 years. During his service, he deployed on multiple combat tours to Africa. Kenny began his educational journey in 2021 and completed his associate degree in biology at Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC). In the summer of 2022, he attended the WSP STEM boot camp at MIT.

Kenny continues to strive for academic excellence. He was selected for the Student Veterans of America (SVA) Leadership Fellowship in 2022 and named the FTCC SVA President. Kenny also conducted epigenetic research at the Yale School of Medicine after being selected for the Research Experience for Undergraduate Veterans (REVU) Program. He began attending Princeton University in August 2023 and plans to pursue a degree in African American studies and public policy. Subsequently, Kenny wants to attend law school and aspires to continue a career in service to disenfranchised communities, specifically in tech ethics and bioengineering. Kenny spends his days enjoying pizza and working for his two mini Goldendoodles, Cali and Cloud.
