Joshua Horton

Joshua Horton served seven years in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Electrical and Bleed Air Systems Mechanic. As he prepared for the transition from military service to college, he attended Warrior-Scholar Project’s Humanities and Business Boot Camp at the University of Notre Dame in 2024, followed by the STEM Boot Camp at Stanford University in 2025.

Joshua recently completed his first year studying Economics at Diablo Valley College and will transfer to Stanford University this fall to continue his academic journey. He is an active member of the Diablo Valley College Student Veterans Alliance, where he helps build community and support fellow veterans on campus. His persistence and determination have driven him to pursue transfer opportunities at highly selective universities as he continues working toward his long-term goals.

Outside of school, Joshua has developed an unexpected passion for growing plants. He enjoys nurturing them from seedlings to fully established plants and often gives them away to friends and family. For Joshua, the process of helping something grow is just as rewarding as the final result.
