Lead Fellow
Adam Sherman served five and a half years in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician and Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician. During his transition from military service to higher education, he attended Warrior-Scholar Project’s STEM Boot Camp at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2024 and later returned as a STEM Fellow in 2025, helping support future cohorts of student veterans.
Adam is currently studying Mathematics at Ocean County College in New Jersey and plans to transfer to a four-year institution to pursue research in astrophysics and cosmology. He is actively involved with his college’s Veteran and Military Readiness Center and Student Veteran Organization, where he enjoys helping fellow veterans navigate the challenges of higher education. His academic interests extend beyond mathematics, and he has participated in honors research projects exploring both philosophy and astrophysics, including topics related to Hubble’s Law and cosmology.
When he is not studying the universe, Adam enjoys folding intricate origami models, attending live music events, and exploring photography. He is also known for his soft spot for animals and once bottle-fed three rescue kittens from infancy—an experience he considers every bit as challenging and rewarding as his academic pursuits.
