Alissa Zavala

Lead Fellow

Alissa “Z” Zavala served eight years in the United States Army as a Paralegal, developing a strong foundation in leadership, organization, and advocacy. Her transition into higher education was supported by Warrior-Scholar Project’s Business Boot Camp at the University of Notre Dame in 2024, and she later returned to support fellow students as a Business Fellow in 2025.

Alissa is currently studying Global Economics and International Relations at the University of Southern California while continuing her service in the Army Reserves. Balancing military commitments, academics, work, and everyday responsibilities has strengthened her resilience and reinforced her commitment to personal and professional growth.

Whether in uniform, the classroom, or her community, Alissa is passionate about learning, service, and building meaningful connections. Outside of school and work, she enjoys traveling, discovering new music, and spending time with animals whenever she can.
