Julio Carpio

Lead Fellow

Julio Carpio served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantryman before transitioning into higher education. In 2024, he attended Warrior-Scholar Project’s humanities boot camp at Amherst College and returned the following year as a Humanities Unified Fellow, helping mentor and support future cohorts of student veterans.

Julio is currently a sophomore at Williams College, where he studies Political Science and American Studies. Prior to transferring to Williams, he attended both the University of Montana and the University of Colorado Boulder. He also serves as President of the Williams College Student Veterans Association, where he works to strengthen community and advocate for veterans on campus.

Outside of academics, Julio enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and weightlifting. He is passionate about exploring big ideas through history, politics, and culture, and values building meaningful connections with fellow students and veterans as they navigate higher education together.
