What is a Warrior-Scholar Project Alumni Ambassador?

This is a volunteer position. As a Warrior-Scholar Project alumni ambassador, you are a designated representative of the WSP community and a leader among WSP’s robust alumni community. In the role of WSP alumni ambassador, you are tasked with promoting WSP programs to the broader veterans community to help:

  • Recruit participants for new classes of warrior-scholars

  • Network and form partnerships with student veterans organizations at campuses across the country 

  • Expand the reach of WSP through your personal and professional networks


In exchange for your service, you will have access to exclusive professional development and networking opportunities offered only to WSP alumni ambassadors.  


Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Outreach and Admissions with recruiting new warrior-scholars by attending recruiting events, serving on panels, and sharing your experience as a WSP alumnus with prospective warrior-scholars

  • Amplifying WSP marketing and communications efforts by sharing WSP social media posts

  • Distributing WSP outreach materials to education and transition offices on military bases, and veterans service offices on college campuses; connecting any new contacts with Director of Outreach and Admissions Jesse Tossetti

  • Sharing your experience and WSP’s mission with veterans groups in your local area or on your campus, including SVA chapters and alumni and affinity groups

  • Represent WSP at veterans events in your area


  • Professional development: WSP will train and coach you in best outreach and marketing practices as well as help you enhance your professional communications skills

  • Networking opportunities: as an alumni ambassador, you will have access to networking opportunities at WSP events in your area or near your college or university

  • Employment reference: WSP will serve as an employment reference for its alumni ambassadors
