President Hunter Rawlings III

Dr. Rawlings is the president of the Association of the American Universities, a nonprofit organization of 62 leading public and private research universities in the United States and Canada. Prior to this position, Rawlings served as president of Cornell University from 1995 to 2003, and as interim president for one year between 2005 and 2006. He served as president of the University of Iowa from 1988 to 1995. Rawlings has written extensively on the culture of classical Greece, with a particular emphasis on Thucydides’ History of the Peloponnesian War.
